This picture is worth a thousand words. I can you imagine the relief of a mother duck who has just found her lost ducklings.
The great patriarch Moses was a lost duckling at one time. He fled from God because he was caught in an act of wrongdoing. He committed one of the greatest sins. He murdered an Egyptian. Moses was full of shame so he ran away for 40 years from his position, power, influence, and God.
God knew his shame, but still chose him for a special assignment.
Moses was captured by God in the all familiar story, the burning bush. “Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look.” (Acts 7:32)
I can imagine it was very difficult for Moses to come face to face with God. He did not feel worthy of the special assignment God was calling him to complete. He made a terrible mistake, failed miserably, and was messed up in his shame.
How many of us flee and hide because our shame is too embarrassing, too great to bear? We don’t deserve a special assignment because our worth and value doesn’t match up!
Next time you don’t think you’re worthy of a special assignment, be on guard God may surprise you and capture your heart. God does His greatest work with those who don’t feel worthy or qualified!
